More family game night

The rules are Go Fish and you already know them. The twist is that every single request has to be made as though you are talking to a dog, and the entire family has to keep doing it. It falls apart in the best possible way inside two minutes, which is the whole design. A Thrilly party card game.

What is actually in the box

  • Fifty-two cards and one page of rules — the smallest, most packable box we make
  • Plays from two people, which almost nothing else in our line does
  • The rules are borrowed, so the teaching time is effectively zero for anyone over six
  • Works without a table: everybody holds their own hand and asks across a car, a bed or a departure lounge

How a round goes

  1. Deal the cards. Everybody holds their own hand, exactly like the game you grew up with.
  2. Ask any opponent for a card you are trying to match — but ask them the way you would ask a dog.
  3. Get it and go again. Miss and the turn moves on, with appropriate sympathy.
  4. Most matched pairs at the end wins and has to be congratulated in the same voice.

Who it suits, and who it does not

Buy it for

Families with primary-school children, dog households, long journeys, and any pair of people who need a game that genuinely works with two.

Skip it if

Adult groups looking for an edge — there is none here on purpose — and anybody who will not do the voice. The game is the voice.

The honest bit

It is the simplest thing we print and the one we are quietly fondest of, because it needs nothing from the people playing except willingness. Reviewers keep making the same point in different words: you do not have to own a dog, you will bark anyway. Four cards of the deck carry the instruction to swap voices mid-game, which is where a quiet round usually turns.

Big hit with kids!

My 7 and 10 year old sons absolutely love this game! We always end up laughing when we play it. The basic idea reminds me a little of Go Fish, so it was easy for them to understand and start playing, but the funny expressions make it so much more entertaining. Trying to make the different faces without cracking up is half the fun, and it usually gets everyone at the table laughing.

Life is too short not to have fun

A cute game for everyone. Even if you don’t own a dog, you will bark playing it.

Best with shameless people

This is absolutely a game where the group determines whether it's hilarious or painfully awkward. The whole concept involves talking to people like dogs, so if everyone commits to being ridiculous, I can see this becoming one of those games where everyone is laughing more at each other than at the actual cards. That's also what I like about it.

Ridiculous, but Fun

OK, so this is Go Fish except you pretend to be a dog. Sounds ridiculous? That’s because it is. Truly, it’s so stupid, but it’s also absolutely hilarious. Functionally, there is really no difference from Go Fish, so if your kids know how to play already, you can start playing this right away with no rule explanation, other than…you need to ask for cards like a dog.

Go Fish, But Make It Bark! 🐶😂

This is a super fun twist on the classic Go Fish, especially when you're playing with littles. The rules are basically the same, so there's almost no learning curve, but having to ask everyone for cards as though you're talking to a dog makes the whole thing considerably more ridiculous. It's particularly fun if you actually have dogs.

So Much Laughter—and They’re Learning Too!

This is the perfect game for my 8-year-old granddaughter! The laughter never seems to stop when we play. Talking to each other like dogs makes a simple card game absolutely hilarious and keeps everyone engaged. What I especially love is that it’s also a fun way to reinforce reading skills without making it feel like practice or homework. She’s reading, interacting, and learning while having a great time.

A Thrilly party card game about dogs, with the listing facts attached

Go Fetch is a card game of things dogs would say, fifty-two cards and one page of rules. Not a board game, no figures, no accessories, nothing collectible, no mobile tool or app — a set of cards containing prompts and a table of players willing to do a voice. An educated guess about which player wrote which line is the scoring, and the action is mostly the table laughing at somebody's impression of their own dog. Family-friendly in a way that most of our shelf is not: no slap, no sip, no sticky hand.

The player count, round length, age on the lid and the latest price are based on the partner shop listing at our last check. A popular edition gets restocked without warning and the price gets revised the same way, so the result shown on the shop page is the authority. We have personally played this one at a table where two actual dogs were present. Tracking and delivery dates belong to your own order page, and the best lines end up shared in a group chat for weeks.
